    from http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4335425,00.html
"... If Marilyn Manson were British he could have had a nice career singing songs about how it felt to be a sickly, spotty but highly intelligent young man with a wicked sense of humour and a perfectly comprehensible horror of the banality and hypocrisy of late-capitalist society..."

article is of course, author's own views. would you agree with him?

At last!! An article that doesn't go scapegoating the music!! :) When will people realise that these young people doing mental things were fúcked up before they started listening to metal. I mean, ffs, I listen to Manson on occasion, and I'm pretty sure AngelWhore, Pornapster, et al do too. Are we going around killing everyone? no.

Dr. Loon - I wouldn't get so worked up about Manson. He's very like Eminem, ie knows what to say to shock people, and is very good at manipulating the media. If we all started worshipping Satan and indulging in bisexual group sex, Manson would become choirboy incarnate :)

Couldn't agree more with the conclusions of the article. It's not a piece about Marylin Manson, it's a very important point about American society as contrasted with our own.

Perhaps one of the most reassuring trends in modern society, actually, is that on this side of the Atlantic we're moving away from the conformist model of the USA towards a much more open society - thank god.

I'm not worked up about his music or anythin... although I think it's shíte.... it's just I really do believe he's a sick cúnt aside from all the media stuff. I've read other insane stuff about raw meat and paraplegic's and shít, maybe it's not true (urban legend style) but I don't like him. Anyway, I'm slightly off topic, so I'll finish there. :)

    Nobody they ever found... *Twitch*

    I agree with the article.
However, the topic itself seems rather baised towards the music.

Out of the entire artice, the part with Manson highlighted?
