myself and some friends are going away somewhere for a weekend at Easter time. I was wondering if you have any ideas as to where we should go. At the moment we're thinking outside Ireland, perhaps Prague or even Rekyvik (spell). anyone got a clue? Somewhere relatively inexpensive to get to.....prices of hotels/hostels should be reasonable as well and food and drink cheapish. ANY IDEAS WELCOME.

    thanks

I'm not sure about Prague, but Rekjavik is probably still quite cold at Easter (not that it ever really gets hot). Drink is very expensive (they lay on Rekjavik - Dublin flights before Christmas so people can go shopping).

I really want to go to Iceland but its fairly expensive and of course due to that nobody will go.

I'm off to Italy for 3 days at the start of Feb. Ryanair deal from Shannnon. 160 Euros return inc taxes. Will let you know how I get on.

    First time going to Italia.

kewl. Italy has also been thrown into the mix. Venice or Rome to be precise.

The timing might not suit you but the week before Easter, is part of the Strong Beer festival, where specially brewed v.strong beer is un-barrelled, de-barrelled or whatever you call it, to mark the end of fasting for Lent.

But wherever you go, don't take that UnionJack.

Be careful, make sure before you go that you label all of your luggage (several times).
I flew to Milan about 6 months ago on business and one of my pieces of baggage went missing (never to be found again).
Apparently Italian baggage handlers are notorious for losing stuff, and this has (in my case) proven to be true.
I got very little satisfaction/help from the lost luggage desk in Malpensa and found their attitude dissapointing.

Obviously make sure that you are heavily insured.
