On my way down there for a month or so, but really need a plan! Only definite is I'm spending a week diving off Koh Tao. What I'd like is suggestions of places to visit from people who have been there, I've read the LP guide & well there's alot in it! And I'd like to set myself some waypoints while touring.

So, if you've been there, what was the most memorable activity/place? Where would you go back to if given the chance? Not too pushed if it's looking at a temple or white water rafting, I would appreciate any suggestions....

    Anyhows...... I'm off to google

Can't go wrong with a few days here.

You have to catch a rough ferry from Phuket (Phuket is Phucked by the way), but an awsome little island for diving, swimming, eating lots of seafood and drinking loads of Mekong (local whiskey) Its in the LP.

It's only worth going to Phi Phi if you are outside the monsoon season (I think it starts Mid to Late August) coz the boat journey will have you heaving buckets. If you like the laid back life, you could try Koh Samui, which happens to be beside Koh Phangan, which is where they host the full moon parties - lots of mad trance music and everything that goes with it. They get thousands at these gigs

If you get to Samui, check out Murphys tropical bar in Chaweng, Paul, who owns it is a real gent.

Going back there in July Myself - can't wait :D:D

if you are planing on going north, to go trecking ,hill tribe spoting etc do it all from a ickle place called pi. pi is a 4 hour bus ride north of chang mi. its a reat little place that i got stuck in for three weeks. if your looking for somewere to stay check out the riverview bungalos.
if you are goin to koh pang yan stay clear of the main beach and stay on one of the smaller beaches like bottle beach, had duan and others . you get to meet lots of great people on these completly secluded beaches, and as the only way of getting to them is by boat you dont have to worry about the cops.

    Bring back some baht.

(nothing nicer than popping the equivalent of 25c into a vending machine and getting €2 value for it)

(like the vending machine in UL that used think a 2p was a 10p)

On koh samui at the moment, on chaweng beach which is over populated... moving to fishermans village for a few days(very relaxed atmo) Off to koh tao diving tuesday & then will by on ko pan ngan for the half moon party. Hopefully getting up to Chiang rai this day fortnight for some trekking, but time constraints are a bitch!! Have to be in Oz in 3 weeks to start work :(
