modem type ?

    my friend has some kind of modem in him computer and im looking for the updated drivers for him as there is a problom in the installation of it dont know what he just tells me that theres a problom the drivers disk says its a mdp3858sp-w 56k

    its being installed on win 98 se .

    i think its a winmodem but could be wrong

    and ids what he should try ? i dont want to have to go to his house and fix it for him . thx lads .

    Find out the manufacturer, and find their website. Strange that a win95/98 driver disk for a modem wont work on se. Usually modem drivers are ok. Or else you could just tell him to install it as a Rockwell HCF modem. That should work.
