Hello, new here blah, blah. I'm an irish ex-pat emmigrated to Australia only 5 weeks ago after living here for some time, decided I wanted to come back here and live. Anyone here just seem miserable in cold rainy old Ireland and just want to leave?

I'm sure I'm not the only one....

I've an aussie living with me. I'd like to return him to Oz as he has some screws loose but am unsure if they'll take him back. don't think we have a proper trade/deportation agreement with those ex-cons.

I wasn't exactly clear was I? I had a few beers when I started the thread! I'm in aus now, I emmigrated to here from Ireland 5 weeks ago. I was here before, but had to go back to ireland because my aussie visa expired. I loved it here so much I decided when I was in ireland, I would come back to aus and live. so here I am! I just wanted to discuss if anyone else wanted to do the same? Maybe I shouldn't post whilst drunk!?

I'm going to Perth, then Melbourne and overland to Sydney to meet up with some mates. Then I'm off to New Zealand. I've a visa application for residency winging it's way to Oz at the moment so hopefully I'll be going back after that for good. It sounds fantastic, great weather, great life style, great people I really hope I get that flippin' visa.

I did the defacto permanent visa application with my g/f. It took 8 months and lots of stress, and lots of money! 535 pounds, and another 100 pounds medical examinations etc. I still haven't got it yet! I'm going to new Zealand in a few weeks to get it finalised (more money on flights...blah, blah). the visa is through, but trust me it doesn't happen fast. But after all of that, I'm now an aussie resident (well almost anyway) and I'm going to NZ for a 10 day holiday, so I shouldn't moan about it, eh?

If you want the one year working holiday maker visa, the processing just takes a few weeks.
