With only 149 days to go to the start of the world cup, what 23 players will Mick decide to bring? If I was in charge this would be my selection (all been fit), but I don't envy him.

GK : Given, Alan Kelly, & Kiely

FB : Finan, Gary Kelly, Carr, Harte, Staunton

CH : Cunningham, O'Brien, Dunne, Doherty,

MF: Roy Keane, Kinsella, Holland, Duff, McAteer, Kilbane, Reid

FWD : Robbie Keane, Quinn, Morrisson, Sadlier

Plenty of expirence mixed with youth with cover in all positions. O'Brien has to go as he plays (brilliantly) each week with our No.1 keeper. Get your money on them at 66/1 EW :o)

    wadayatink?

And should anyone above get injured, these would be the fav selections as replacements,
    GK Murphy
    FB Flemming, DeLap
    CH Breen
    MD Kavanagh, Carsley
    Fwd Connolly, O'Neill

    Who have I missed?

I think this starting eleven would give any team a game, providing they are all fit and selected to go to Japan and Korea?

    GK Given

    RB Carr
    LB Harte
    CH Staunton
CH O'Brien (plays with Given every week)

RM McAteer (or Finnan, cant decide)
LM Kilbane (only one move, push ball past defender and run, but will give the team balance)
    CM Roy Keane
    CM Holland

    CF Robbie Keane
CF Duff (world class and him and Robbie together will worry any defence)

So all in all a Quality Team? I think so :)

re Ben Burgess ...Ummm & he play for ...?

Thats probably the list. Id still like to see Stephen McPhail get in there, but its unlikely he'll ever get a game at Leeds. Maybe that transfter to Newcastle will go through like its apparantly supposed to.

Also like to see John O'Shea get on the 22, but its unlikely until he starts playing regularly.

I actually forget right now. I think he's like, only 20 though. Perhaps he needs a few more years. But he's got good strength (unlike robbie) and is basically a good solid striker.

would ye not consider Finnan to be a good right back, he has done well the the last few times in that position!

Finnan aint no right-back. He's a bloody midfielder L/R!!! And what is wrong with gary kelly at right back?

Dave O'Leary seems to be a bit thick aswell - playing Mills instead of Kelly!??? CrAzY!!!

I'm shocked to see no one has included Alan Mahon in their selection.

Given how weak we are down the left, He's a good squad player, that can play ML or MC. Plenty of skill and pace!

Also to Dobdobdo, Duff is more effective at ML where he can run at the defense, and creat openings, aswell as putting in decent crosses.

I hate the way Mick uses players out of position! It cost us qualification to Euro 2000, but I think he's learnt his lesson.

Sure if there are no other fit attackers, (we were a bit short of fit, regularly playing attackers for a while, he can fill in, but given the form of Connoly and Morrison, and the fact we dont have another world class ML ...

    My 23

    Given , Kelly, Kiely

Kelly, Carr, Harte, Staunton, Breen, Cunninghan, Dunne,O'Shea, O'Brien

Keane, Duff, Kinsella, Holland, McAteer,Kilbane, Mahon

    Keane, Quinn, Morisson, Connelly

    X

He plays with Brentford and scored twice against Brighton at the W/E, the second was a cracker, saw them on the Nationwide. But does he qualify to play for Ireland? http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/stats/view/player_profiles/0,1563,10421~17088,00.html

Probably needs a couple of years tough.

WRONG, Finan is probably considered a wing back and having watch him play several times for Ireland he's been brilliant. Plays right back for Fulham, every week and is one of the best in the Premiership.

Mills might be a thug but he's a better player then GarY Kelly both defensively and going forward. IMO
