Channel 5 text has all but disappeared today - message on 100 to say tha there's still an ancialliary service on 500 which gives basic C5 programme details. Didn't hear anything about this - can anyone enlighten me as why they discontinued?
    Thanks

The company that supplied analogue text services for Sky was also the supplier for Channel 5.

I read recently that Channel 5 had ended their contract with that company, and that although the contract ended in January 2002, there wouldn't be a replacement service for at least a couple of months (I assume they will have to do a deal with a new text service provider).

In the meantime it's TV schedules etc. only, I'm afraid.

I notice this via ch 5 analogue presely.
It's high time now the Sky digital versions of ITV and CH5 had a digital text service.

There is a very nice colourfull digital teletext for ITV on ITV digital:)
another whinge coming regarding Sky.....why don't we have it there-charge too much to ITV or something??
