The people who work for chorus are scumbags whose only interest is in fleecing you at every opportunity.

You should complain them to the ODTR if they dont get their act together.

It might be possible that one of your neighbours might be tapped into the cable illegally

Also another reason could be you have your signal routed round to too many television's in your house, which could lead to lesser quality if more TV's are connected.

    I share your pain :(

Chorus have got to be the worst cable providers in irish history.
I know one person who left in disgust at their management structure and I'm not surprised.

The latest thing to torture the enslaved consumer is that after 10-15 minutes of watching tv the colours distort and I'm left looking at a red, fuzzy picture like they tried to inverse the colours but got it horribly wrong. It is very annoying, it's corrected by flicking to another channel and and then flicking back, this becomes incredably annoying after about an hour so I just stick in a video instead

I would love to see the size of the Chorus overdraft!
Their service is so bad and they are losing so many customers,I'm surprised they can service any debt, let alone pay the wages of Engineers!(maybe thats why they're never seen??).

Sky is the only option at the moment-If people have any sense, the likes of Chorus or crappus as it's more commonlly reffered to,will go bankrupt:) especially when RTE/TV3 arrive on Sky.

There is also Irish DTT which is planned for sometime in 2002,when that gets going, its goodbye Crappus.

Chorus has a customer service centre by name only. The agents are not trained in dealing with complaints. They get defencive. I had, I repeat HAD the horrible Chorus. I had similar problems as described. I had no help or interest from Chorus. I then informed the ODTR as it was back then. They were very helpful and for a government agency were fantastic in their quick responce. When I mentioned to Chorus that I had complained to the ODTR, they became more reasonable and dare I say it....nice! I got rid of them and their crappy signal and service when Sky digital came. I dont think that Chorus will be around for much longer. All my neighbours have ditched chorus. They are Horrible. They are terrible. OOOOOHHHH I hate Chorus!!!!!!!!

There is a simple answer to this problem: cancel Chorus and subscribe to Sky. Why waste your time being aggravated by them, life is too short. Another issue is if they fold---and given their problems with apparently everyone cancelling, it's possible---will you get a refund of any advance payments made???

    Don't get mad, get even...

Yes I did see that ad too for the PPV for fifty pounds. I thought at the time that it was very cheap. Is this for PPV movies or the PPV Premership Plus. This cannot be true can it?

It might have been a good price to pay when the ppv football started but to pay £50 now for the rest of the matches is a joke.
Only football matches on premiership plus! channel7 on mmds.

I wonder does anyone else get this, or am I somehow special ...

I pay Chorus by Direct Debit. I noticed recently that on my bill there is something such as the following:

    Monthly Charge £18.50
    Direct Debit Discount -£ 0.50
    Total Due £18.00

However, when I looked back over the bank statement, Chorus were taking £18.50 out each month! Not enough money to kick up about, but at the same time it shows just how Soviet their data systems are - apparently there is no numeric link between their billing and their accounts!

Poor systems are not just related to Telephones, TV and the Internet at Chorus!
