    Ah good now I can ask me question without starting a new post.
    What kind of paint would you use for painting a case and keyboard? I've only tried using normal spraypaint before which gets all covered in grease and hairs and stuff. Basically I want to spray my case and keyboard black then paint the details on the keyboard in red for a kind of l337 samurai look :D

    www.virtual-hideout.net
    and
    www.gideontech.com
    have great case mod gallerys + links to loads more sites. So start there.

    Zaphod as far as I know they also have articles on how to paint your pc and just about every other form of modding.. I think you just sand the side of your pc and use good quality spraypaint (the sort used on cars). Keyboards can be more messy though.
    Be nice if you could spray a design on the side using some sort of template (mine would be a dragon :)
    Anyway let me know how you got on

    DK

    try spraying it black, then a real light coast of varnish, delute it with white spirits, and apply with a spunge. you get a very nice gloss effect, whic his easy to wipe down, if applied right.

    Remember i dont what to hear anything if you open up a tin of varnish, and somehow manage to burn down the house.

    I'm getting a bit of cash next week, have allready snaded my Test case (this is my first time).
    Going to go about it much like this:
    1. resand the surface with fine sandpaper
    2.Apply undercoat in small layers, builing it up. Car metal undercoat.
    3.Apply Topcoat evenly, again in small amounts and spraying properly. Any transfers/stickers/Designs should be applied now.
    4. Apply clear varnish spray or laquer.
    5. very lightly sand the laquer with kittensoft-esque sandpaper to remove the sticky sh1t.
    6. Apply rubbing solution gently to give a really shiney smooth surface.
    7. Take out the paint stripper and get down on your hands and knees to clean the carpet before mom comes home.

    I have a few taxi driver type things.

    Also got my L33t SCSI scanner working last night, so I can pop up a few images of the designs I have in mind.

    Also need to get some Blue or White LEDS for the keyboard and case lights.

    Erm here are a few urls that deal with case painting

    http://www.servowebdesign.com/comp/painting.htm --> simple

    http://www.speedy3d.com/articles/case_mod_p2/index.shtml --> more complex

    http://www.casejunkiez.com/articles/paintjob/fan_painting.shtml --> fan painting guide

    http://www.hardocp.com/articles/casemod101/part3/ --> very complex guide (not something done in the average garage)

    http://peripherals.about.com/library/weekly/aa041500a.htm --> another simple guide

    I'm going sanding and undercoating mine this weekend hopefully.
    I'll try and document it all. :)

    G'luck with it Drazhar.

    That HArdOCP guide is class.
    If you want to do a semi-pro job I'd suggest reading it :)
