Story is I FINALLY got the new machine in!!! :D:D:D
    "Go ME!!!!"
I wont go into specs cos noone cares but......as you can tell I have windoss XP.

I have a problem with some o my games
    >
    Namely:

    1) Tony Hawks 2.
    2) GTA 2.
    3) Deus Ex.
    4) AvP.

Am I the only one experiencing problems with these games??
They just quit back to the desktop at their own will. GTA2 the main offender.
    AvP has done it.
Deus Ex has locked up a number of times recently.
THPS2 just refuses to run under XP.

Should I be looking for patches or is this a problem I can't sort??
It could be a graphics prob.
    64Mb GeForce 2 MX???

Any help is much appreciated cos I'm pissed off!

There may be a compatibilty setting like there was in win2k which might help. You needed to register it on win2k as follows :

    C:\WINNT\system32\regsvr32.exe %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll

and then make a shortcut, there should be a extra tab which sets the compatablity for you. worked for some games that had issues with win2k.

Yer, the Compatibility tab is enabled by default in XP.

I can play Deus Ex under XP without any problems though, are you sure you have the right drivers for vid card, sound card, etc etc?

I had problems with that game under ME and 98,i always just put it as a bug in the game and played on.
Every half hour or so,it locked up and crashed my computer.Still didnt stop me playing it for 3days solid though, because that game utterly rocks :D
