I'm trying to install freebsd on an old western digital 730meg drive. (it wont go on my 20 gig drive because the boot loader cant see beyond the 10000 cylinder or something. )
anyway, it turns out that this disk has bad sectors, about 100 kilobytes worth. However freebsd doesnt check for them and tries to install anyway. Can anyone help?

yeah, install slackware linux, it will save you a lot of pain later

the start of your root partition probably needs to be in the first 8GB of your 20gig hard disk
