Long shot this.

Tried pumping keywords into imdb.com with no success

Plot setup runs something like:

Old rugby referee dies, confides in someone before he snuffs it that he fiddled the result in an international match between Wales and New Zealand. Everyone's annoyed by this so they gather all the old aging players together to replay the match.


Sounds a bit crap but I did like the movie when I saw it years ago. No idea who's in it. Thought Ian Bannen might be a likely candidate but I've trawled his imdb listing to no avail.

Any ideas folks?

Found it!

All imdb's fault really, they had no plot outline for the bloody movie (which doesn't make it easy)

Got the notion that Ian Bannen wasn't a good place to start. In a flash of inspiration I went for the only Welsh actor of age I could think of

Never The Twain (remember the two antique dealers)
Windsor Davies (the Welsh chap in the series)
Checked all his movies and found...

Old Scores (1991)

(just as well I thought of that chap, he's the only actor anyone's ever heard of in it)

The only keywords they had for it were "rugby" and "independent-film" (so not a nutty suggestion at all, Da Bounca)

Did a search on google for the movie title to check plot (only one working link)

So there we go - ten year puzzle for me solved (it has been bothering me that long)
