Ok, sit down and brace yourself.

I have unlimited tickets to go see the Lord of The Rings gala premier Savoy opening night in Dublin and then afterwards a slap up meal in Jurys Ballbridge.

All proceeds (afaik!) go to the Arthritis Foundation Of Ireland.

    10th December 2001

Ok, the BAD NEWS, is that its expensive. Bloody expensive.

    £125

If anyone is interested I'm going and getting a table together if I can (its no cheaper tho :( ) then let me know. Post here any questions or mail me at tom@spinsol.com

Its a good cause and sounds like a cracking night out.

    DeV.

Hmmm, 125? A bit steep, even if it a good cause and all. No student discount I take it? ;)

Tempting but @ £125! I'm afraid not :(, would of gone if it was around £50 :)

No student discount I'm afraid afaik (I'll ask though).

Yes the price is steep but its aimed at nobbie people for whom £125 is the price of a bottle of wine :)

Adding in the night in Jurys is not bad etc.

Hobbes, I have you down for a ticket. I'll communicate with people who say they want tickets in a while.

Cheers DeV, but I'd have to agree that there won't be, not exactly aimed at the student person as you said. If I didn't have to travel up from cork etc I'd probably go but with me traveling up and down, and probably having to find accomodation aswell, it would work out very very expensive :(

Ah well, I'll get have to watch it with the rest of the lesser mortals ;)

Here Dev is this actually in aid of the Arthritis Foundation Of Ireland cause I want to make myself look good by saying I'm paying £125 out because I'm a charitable ba$tard instead of a sad nerd wanting to see a film a couple of days earlier than the rest of the country :P

    Yes, sorry for my confusion:

The question I was raising when I said "afaik" was over whether ALL the proceeds or just ALL the PROFIT was going to the charity mentioned.

I'm waiting for an answer but its organised by the charity themselves directly so I would expect as much as possible is going to them.

I'll get more details very soon.

damnit, i'd love to go but I think my exams start on the 10th

even still.. i might purchase a ticket.. i'm going to fail them anyway, sitting them won't make much of a difference :)

when is the cut off point for getting tickets?
not sure when my timetable is coming out
