Alright, here's a golden nugget for all the people here with motorised dishes.

The new series of Friends is on every Thusday night at 8pm ET (1am here) on NBC. There's an MSNBC feed on Telstar 12 (15W) and every Thusday at about 1 am they switch over to NBC and you can watch Friends, ER, Jay Leno and whatever else is on.

    The frequency is 11.521 H 5348 7/8

You should be able to get a lock on the satellite with that frequency - it's on all the time.

That satellite is full of NBC feeds.
    More feeds @ 12719 V 13842 - 7/8 etc etc.. and many more,
also NTL and BBC feeds used to feed the east coast NA and east coast SA.

Im sure you can get those TP's @ lyngsat.

Yes its an excellent feed alright. I watched the last season of Friends on here as well. (Theres a new ep. on next Thursday btw, it was an old one this week). Other good shows to watch out for on NBC are Fraiser, West wing, all 3 Law & Orders + many more.
Another good feed is on Pas3r (43w) 11636H 19850 3/4. This one is CBS. It shows all the network news shows + every morning it has the uncut feed of The Late Show with Dave L. and often has The Late late show afterwards. Every Thursday night it also has Survivor Africa but I've only seen parts of this as I do be watching nbc.
The higher NBC feeds cannot be received in Europe. They are on the US beam and are the CNBC Europe feeds which are sent to Fort Lee from London.

How big a dish would you need to pick up these feeds ?

I'm using a 1m dish, but you might get away with an 80cm fixed dish (ie get your old analogue sky dish out and point it at 15w)

Edit: BTW that feed is digital, so you'll need a digital receiver - Humax are good.

If you use a Humax then make sure it has NTSC software loaded or else you'll have nothing but grief. There was a big discussion about this a while back on another forum and it was found only some models have NTSC software available. The popular 5400 does have it. Your tv must also support NTSC. btw, you can only watch these feeds in colour if you try to record then it comes out in b & w.

I'm in Holland (approx 4 deg East), would I need a bigger or smaller dish? Is there a website where I can see the footprint?

Edit - the wonders of Google http://www.loralskynet.com/fleet/telstar12/t12ft_us.asp

You'll probalby get away with a small dish in Holland, I'd say an 80cm.

Peter, I've got an old Humax and it outputs in PAL (so you can record it), but it only takes up 3/4 of the screen. It converts the picture line by line and since there's less lines in NTSC you end up with a gap down at the bottom of the screen.

I also have a Strong 4375 and it outputs in NTSC and like you said it won't record on a standard video recorder.

I've a Toshiba PAL/SECAM/NTSC video player. I've played NTSC tapes on it before, now I just have to find out if it will record NTSC as well...

I doubt if it will record in colour. I have a Philips VCR and although it will play NTSC tapes it will not record an NTSC signal. The only vcr I THINK will do this is a modified Panasonic model which is being sold by a company called Lektropaks(or something like that) and costs around £500. It aint worth it. Like the cig man I use an old Nokia 9600(non dvb2000) to record in colour albeit the picture squashed and flicking every 30secs and an Echostar to watch it in full picture.

Yeah, you'd be better off buying a NTSC-PAL converter than a new video recorder, something like this:
