Do you use VideoPlus? You know, those little numbers that appear after every TV program in most newspapers?

I personally think they'd be better off using that space to tell us a little more about the programs.

Na, not any more.... when I got my 2nd video in 1995/6 (first one lasted 11 glorius years) Videoplus was a great gimmick..... But the fad wore off, and got used to manually setting the video to record.

And as they cant be used with Digital TV..... their days are numbered < /pun >

i use teletext to see what is on terrestrial telly and teletext don't use those numbers. i actually find it more awkward putting in the numbers anyway. i can nearly manually set the video with my eyes closed anyway

    Yup, I agree,
it will soon be so dated.
And when,Sky plus type services come down in price-theres the future(at least untill the next thing is invented)

When I picked up the video the chap in the shop who sold it to me (usually knows his stuff) told me that VP wouldn't work properly if they moved the time of the broadcast.

BBC are usually fairly reliable though. When the GF's away in the UK working she gets me to tape Eastenders - regular programming gets is bang on opening credits to closing credits.

Now if someone can tell me what the shop chap told me was wrong, great as then I can program for the next two weeks and forget about it.

Meant to add - anyone remember those Panasonic video machines with the barcode book? They still use it at home when they can find the video remote.
