NCAD Vis Com

(My first post here - so sorry if I'm a bit ignorant)

I'm strongly considering transferring out of my Computer Science course in Maynooth and I was wondering:

1. Does anyone do this course (Visual Communications)?
2. Is it good?
3. Would it interest someone like me who likes computers (CGI etc), multimedia, and is a part time web-designer etc...

Please, I need help. *gulp*

I have heard noting but great things about vis com (i take it this is the dit one?) i tried for ages to get into it but when i eventually could go for it i got a job instead

Having seen the graduation show last year id say it is exactly what you are looking for. I was well impressed. Lots of multimedia and web exhibits.
But be advised. Most design courses probably wont start you on computers untill about second year. first year is usually a year where you are thought the basics in art/design and idea development.

I went to NCAD Visom, doesn't really sound like your cup of tea! Its a great course but would be more print based! If you are a fan of CGI, Web etc. Maybe you should have a look at IADT or DCU Multimedia.

I agree with you there.

Just graduated from NCAD myself and I was friends with quite a few vis com students. Most of them had pretty bad things to say about the department.

IADT seems to be the best place for it.
