why is it that some phones receive text messages sent from web-based sms like oceanfree instantly and some take 24 hours to get there? I sent two messages last night, one got there in about five seconds, the other (to another phone) took about eighteen hours.

    Why????

Afaik if there is an available sms slot when a message is sent then it pretty much gets sent right away. But if theres none available it gets put in a nice big queue which can take an age to process.

Also I *think* web sms's have a low priority as compared to sms's sent from phones.

A lot of guessing and no solid facts...but makes sense dunnit? :)

    Anyone with definite answers know?

Sometimes text messages from ICQ can take a while to send as well? Hmm - some plausible theories there Snags...

hmm, but that doesn't seem to explain how some numbers just don't receive messages at all, and others do, *all the time*. Surely what's happening here can't be just random. Can it?
