If they were any way good.

They dominated their domestic league. (You can only beat the team on front of you).
And in the champions league, they showed htey can match Juventes on a good day. In friendlies the took united to the cleaners.
    or Irish

    Well lets see.
There are many soccer fans who support British clubs, eg 'Pool, United(s) etc. and this is ok. But if you support celtic .. thats not ok.
Cause nobody supports a team thats not irish.

Oh yes, and they are owned by the shareholders, many of whom are Irish.

So i support a foreign football team.

I would feel I am in the majority there. Youre a spurs fan, are you not WWman? So they are English. Celtic are Scottish.

So what? Whats is your point. Do you think i did not know this?

As for the champions league, they qualified, they got to vthe group stages, and fulfilled my expectations.
When they were knocked out of the champoins league after the group stage they joined names like Lazio, Borussia Dortmund, PSV etc.

I believe thats a good achievement. To have the name of Celtic mentioned with the likes of these teams once again.

Dominating the Scottish Premiership does not make you good, I'd say bar Rangers, Celtic, maybe or one or two others the standard could be matched by the Eircom League

I don't have a problem with people supporting foreign leagues; the Eircom League obviously wont satisfy your need for quality football, but I wouldn't turn to Scotland for that.

Celtic wouldn't stand a chance in doing well in the Premiership if they ever get there, I'd put them at around the same level as West Ham at the moment.

    considering that
    a)i live in england
b)my father supported spurs (hence where i got it from)
    and
c)my father was english, id have enough justification to support spurs :)

on the other hand, a lot (and no i dont include you) of irish peoepl will support celtic because, well, actually i dont know. because theres an irish connection, but more out of heard mentality. people always say they cant support the hun, so they support celtic. who said they had to support any team in scotland? why support celtic, because others do. im sure 90% of celtic supporters wouldnt know much about the irish history of celtic. i have no problem with celtic. i think they are a great team at the moment. but only since o'niell took over.
and hopefully they will do better in europe last year.....
