Ok, maybe not Godzilla but there is a Zeriously event coming up
(http://www.zeriously.com) where Boards will be represented by yours truely on a panel of 4.

Zeriously is a fairly major web-industry networking meeting and next Wednesday (28th) they turn their attention to Online Communities.

    The speakers are:
    Gerry McGovern (ex-NUA & local.ie)
Brian Greene ('Open' and IIA 2-way email lists)
    Jill McGrath (Maybefriends.com)
    Tom Murphy (Boards.ie)

Its 10 quid in but you get to stay in the (very cool) nightclub and play in one of Irelands only licensed Casino (3 tables of blackjack, with very sexy croupiers!). I play them alot :)

The format is questions and answers and it should be a lively event as you might imagine :)

It's times like this I wish I still lived in Dublin.

I must ask the Zeriously crew if they fancy a trip to Galway...

Good luck with it Tom(@spinsol.com) :)

Its in the Sugar Club which is fast becoming my fav club... its not even a dance club, its all swing and jive stuff but its very cool.
Think Blue Brothers meets Twin Peaks. With gambling.

Anyway, you can line up questions for the panel at the zeriously website...

The Sugar Club - This club is pretty cool, I headed in on a Friday night after a good few in my local. The Sugar Club is set in an old cinema, the seating has changed though and definitely for the better, it's comfy and relaxed with plenty of room around each little booth. If I had wanted table service it would have been made available in less than 30 seconds flat, but I didn't want because there was a 12 percent cover charge on every order. We went up to the bar instead. You could say the Sugar Club is full of sugar daddies and sweet girlies but it's all in the best possible taste and there's a nice cross section of people there. I chatted to one girl in the toilets who told me that her music was techno and lots of it but she came to the Sugar Club for a change. The band were a very together swing and jazz outfit and we were in the club early enough to catch the end of "Toy Story". The music was brilliant and the atmosphere was really chilled, the dance floor is a bit like a stage though and since all the chairs are facing it it's not for the shy clubber. Ok, so it cost a tenner in but to sit in comfortable surroundings, drink and listen to a good band it was worth it. It opens early at around eight-thirty and closes at about three or later. Oh yeah and the staff inside and at the door treat their customers like human beings- who says money can't buy (or rent) love? I'll definitely be back.

Opening Wednesday and Thursday nights (£5 cover) from 10pm and Saturday night from 8.30 (£10 cover). Call them up for specials on a Sunday afternoon.

This event is on tonight, as I understand it there is free booze at it too (there has been every time before!)

Should be a good laugh and Regi and I will be gambling our cash away undoubtedly...

perhaps Regi will win enough to get a kickass server, but then again thats the trap all gambling addicts fall into isn't it.
