Does anyone know the syntax for wap? ie how would one go about creating a browser such that I can type 'wap://wap.enn.ie', and it will load the same text that would be loaded on my moby? Or have I got totally the wrong idea here? Would anyone be interested in such a project? Has it already been done? When will I stop asking questions? Thanks all

What on Earth are you asking? You're all over the place.

Syntax for a URL? That would be "http://wap.enn.ie".

As for the same text/content, yes and no (no simple answer).

Yes, you've got the wrong idea, or at least you're asking the wrong questions. Ask again, on the Wireless board.

I've done it on my site @ home.stauntonline.com
You just make "wml" pages anf then upload it to any webspace
I'm using gelon.net to view my page, and if you do it right you can hide their ads:)

There are a few proggys you can use to surf wap pages. I'll have to search again. http://www.wapdrive.com used to be a brill site but it seems to have closed now:(

Yeah if only I had have spent some time searching. Got a nice, small proggy from some Irish crowd, 3tl, based in DCU, it seems. I had assumed from 'Wireless Application Protocol', that had created some totally new TCP protocol, when obviously it's not. :( Amoi, what is wml? Wireless/Wap markup language or sumfink? I've never ever heard of it.

Read this (all of it), then come back. Not before.

seamus - there are loads of programs that load wap pages.
there is a v.good sdk available from ericsson ;)

afaik opera (the browser) will load wml pages.

as it is @ the moment we have wap1.2 coming out.
we this we get just about http-esque tags and so forth.
