ITV and conditional access

According to a post yesterday on digital spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/displayarticle.php?id=4161), ITV (not surpisingly) is striving to reach a deal with SKY regarding conditional access.

I can understand advertisers' fears that their ads will not reach their target audience. But, surely, this does not mean that the other ITV regions will have to be blocked. After all, with a BBC card, the other BBC2 regions are also available elsewhere on the EPG.

Was just wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this.

Ah! Ping!...I've just had an idea....:p
Let ITV use the conditional access system to direct you to your region.
But for those that want-let it be ok for anyone to just ring Sky to switch on the regionals-There wont be a majority that will bother and then we can have them if we want and the advertisers need have no worries:cool:
