duplicate files on Harddisk

    Folks

    Any1 come across an app that lists duplicate files on a hard disk. I'm talking about a 20Gb+ volume on an NT server with 10,000+ files. Old DIR in dos mode just won't cut it.

    Assuming you don't want to do the whole drive, just a subdirectory.

    Open explorer, select the subdirectory. Press F3, then click "Find".

    Then when the list is complete sort by name.

    Or you can do ..


    dir c:\ /s/b > filelist.txt

    then created a QBASIC/perl/whatever to look for duplicates.

    or norton utilities has a cleansweep option in it that will do just that.
