Lex Luthor is the undisputed master and lord of all he surveys. Yes, there is a mayor, a governor and a President of the United States, but Luthor is a law unto himself. In his mind there is no good or bad, except what's good and bad for Lex Luthor. If he wants something, he'll have it, either buying it outright, bribing someone to get it for him or systematically removing all obstacles between him and his goal. In a world where the corporate web weaves through everything in ever-spreading strands, Lex Luthor is emperor.

    YORE MA!

    Or...

    ALL OF THEM!
Mushed up together in some kind of paste of pure concentrated evil!

    But for individual ones...

The Warlock was a pretty ****ing nasty peice of work.
Lestat - Interview With A Vampire.
    Stansfield - Leon.
Keyser Soze - The Usual Suspects.

Newman ( Wayne Knight ) in Seinfeld.

I also thought Joaquim Phoenix was excellent in Gladiator.

    Alan Rickman in either

    Die Hard as Hans Gruber

    Or

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves as The Sherrif of Nottingham (the only good thing about that film)

I particularly enjoyed his spoon reference :)

    Gandalf.

Yeah - Jack as The Joker in the first Batman (stole the show).

Kevin Spacey's character in Se7en was quite cool too.

The only villain in a film who has ever really scared me and so is obviously the greatest is yer man played by John Lithgow (of 3rd Rock from the Sun fame) in Santa Claus the Movie.:D

Sideshow Bob's brother Mell on the Simpsons

...should have been mentioned earlier... Vader and Palpatine are a bad-ass pair... top of the list.

That's the thing, the bad guys are always the best, they're just so much more interesting.

Think Seth Gecko in From Dusk Till Dawn, Micky and Mallory in Natural Born Killers, Vince in Pulp Fiction... oh dear I see a Tarantino pattern developing, heh.

Seriously? Darth Vader is one of the ultimate baddies... Sadako in Ring/Ring 2, Asami in Audition (anyone else here see this?), Keyser Soze in The Usual Suspects, the T-1000 in Terminator 2.

Worst baddie? Keanu Reeves in The Watcher. Pee-uww. So did not care what happened to him.

Sideshow Bob's brother's name is "Cecil". Sideshow Mal (I think) was, although similar in appearance, not related.

I agree with those who say Gary Oldman is the best damn villain actor out there.

If you look at the characters that Gary Oldman plays .... he's almost ALWAYS the villian. And when I say "villian" I mean ... the EVIL, RUTHLESS, COMPLETELY AMORAL SWINE villian *lol*

Eg. The 5th Element, Leon, Air Force 1, etc

    Mmmm...

    YES!

AS I've mentioned... Stansfield in Leon...

And basically any other Gary Oldman villan bar Dr. Smith (Which we can all forgive and forget.)

He outshadowed all others before him when he took the role of Dracula.
