Best DVD Site Recommendations?

    Folks,

Looking for some advice here, from other film buffs who tend to collect as well.

I usually buy my DVDs on the net, and mostly from the states or Canada due to the region 1 content, and usually lower prices.

Now, normally I'd use somewhere like www.dvdpricesearch.com to start the research, but then default to amazon, directvideo or dvdexpress for the goods depending on how the total shipment (approx 10 or 20 dvds at a time) works out.

Anyone got a really good recommendation for the best value region 1 DVDs on the web?

ps - for Euro Dvds I usually use play247, amazon.co.uk or blackstar.co.uk. I'd also be interested in any good recommendations for Euro sites (region 2 dvds).

    Thanks in advance.

    For region 2 i'd go for Play247.com

But for speed of delivery and better pricing (imho)go for Ezydvd (region 4) and always delivers in 3-4 working days

I ordered from play247 2 weeks ago and am still waiting.

Use to go to DVDexpress.com but they are more or less dead now.

A dodgy site would be www.vcd-import.com - but usually wait up to a month and they always mess up somthing.

Not sure whos the fastest to be honest but its not PLAY - (tracking nos not included).

    Well,

I'd recommend www.directvideo.com usually, since they have delivered successfully approx 30 DVDs to me so far, no problems.

I usually use www.amazon.com or www.dvdexpress.com to suss out the details on the various discs, and then order them from directvideo because they are cheaper.

Keep in mind, this is a mail order setup, so no fancy site and disc details, just the title and the cost... which is why I use the other sites for info first.

However - I'm always on the lookout for a better option from some other site.. hence the post in the first place :)

Well at the moment I'm using the following

    Region 1
A&B Sound Reliable and good value. Fast when they have an item in stock.
Tower Records Use them when I can find a coupon on the net to reduce the price.

    Region 4
DVD Crave Great prices and delivery times
EZYDVD Slighty more expensive than DVD Crave.

    Region 3
DDD House These guys have a good rep on http://www.dvdforums.com. I've ordered Shaolin Soccer, Battle Royal and The Killer last week. I'll let you know how long they take. Prices look very nice :)

    Region 2
I normally buy from Xtravision, Golden Discs or HMV on Sales.

Update on DDD House the DVDs arrived today not bad as they shipped on the 26th from Hong Kong. Will watch Shaolin Soccer tonight if I get a chance.

Thanks for the response gandalf, I'll check those region 1 sites out next time I'm ordering.

It'll probably be after christmas mind you, since I've got about 20 DVDs inbound from canada (www.directvideo.com) at the mo.
