    90% of the worlds herion comes from Afghanistan aswell. As you are well aware, herion is a huge problem in the States.

    They could be carpet bombing the poppy feilds, you don't need to fly B-1's and B-2's from America just to drop some Durandalls on a runway.

    americas drugs come more from sothern america and its spending billions to stop it.

    but afghan's drugs do affect us and uk

    The Taliban do not grow the opium (apparently) but do levy a tax on it. Iran looses about 1000 soldiers every year in gun battles with opium runners from Afghanisatn in an effort to stem the trade accross it border. America cannot readily destroy the opium crops without providing an alternative crop or industry. If that was done (which it may be if this war is won) then opium production, may become a thing of the past in Afghanistan. We can only hope.

    The amount of heroin coming out of Afghanistan probably kills more people daily around the world than the amount who died in the WTC, I don't have figures, maybe someone else will come up with them but I'm sure there'd be much more justification and a lot less deaths in a ' war on heroin ' than what their doing right now, but of course oil is a lot more important to the Bush administration.
