I just watchin it last nite, they had David Trimble, some Shin Féin chap n some american chap...

So anyway they're talkin about the IRA's move on decommissioning n the presenter turns to the american guy, i 4get who but some Irish guy went over to America yesterday for meeting n the presenter said something along the lines of

"I suppose he wouldn't of been made as welcome if he hadn't brought the news that he did"

N the american's response is what i thought was great

"Of course he would!?, Gerry Adams is due to give a talk next week and the event has been sold out. As far as we're conserned the IRA have commited to a process of decommisioning and the only obstical we see is David Trimble .... I fell off the chair laughing... he kept reiterating it too :D it was great! :D LMAO

I think it was as much a laugh of relief as anything else, i had been semi conserned about this 'war on terrisim' would effect us n some English MP brought it up last week n now an american spokes person says this... oh happy days :D lol

The American Gentleman is Peter King- a rather staunch Irish- Amercian supporter of Sinn Féin for quite a number of years now. Came very much to prominence during the original Gerry Adams Visa Granting in 1994(?)
I was kinda suprised he appeared because he is a bit impartial, but I suppose it made good TV. Since it was filmed in Washington, surely they could have grabbed Bruce Morrison or some more moderate Irish Americans on Captial Hill !?**me thinks**
