Reading through logfield's post you guys mentioned about EON.

Have a couple of quick questions.

Has any1 tried to use this with E-Donkey, Morpheus, FTPs or the likes ?

Does it work with the present digital satilite system provided by sky in Ireland ? (this is probably obvious but I'm a bit thick).

Any more charges not mentioned after the inital 150 Euros ?

I thought chernobyl would have replied to you on this one but he must be away a few days. I think he has a web site about EON but I don't know it off hand. I can tell you though that while the minidish from your Sky digital system would work, you would have to face it to Astra at 19.2 deg. which would mean you loosing Sky alltogether, so you might want to get another dish.

150 Euro's gets you unlimited downloads on a one year subscription and a free DVB card which isn't exactly the best card out there but you can't complain when you get it free! Have a look at europeonline.com and .net for more details.

As regards access, it's not as flexible as a normal Internet connect as you can only request a file from their file fetch system when you feed it a direct address to a file, so therefor the likes of E-Donkey won't work but FTP's will though I'm told it also depends on the FTP's Operating Sytem, some it likes some it doesn't! All that said it's still an excellent system, chernobyl will give you more info on it's good points but I know it has an excellent file sharing system of it's own where EON users share all their downloads, I believe you can download gigs and gigs each day of movie rips or whatever tickles your fancy ;)

Just noticed myself, that Chernobyl has a link to an EON board imbedded in his sig pic.
There is a post referring to to his website but that appears to be down at the moment

There are links to other EON sites there too, have a look.

Fair play Chernobyl for not spamming it every topic.

Probably why hes not posting the link..maybe its a little test to see are you worthy :)

im gonna be short with you, basically cus im tired and my coke supply just ran out, so im pi$$ed too.

You like warez?..0-dayz, and would you like to recieve these by simply just running a sharing programme and just leave your machine running?
you dont have to dir scan every ftp you just make sure your machine is up 24/7 and warez arrive from heaven.

EON at the moment is simply a 4mbit warez dump.

Do you like the idea of downloading a 4 cd SVCD CAM of the lastest moviez just beacuse you think the 2 cd rip is just not on?

look EON is no isp, and is not for the light user.

If you want to recieve these downloads you need a Fat fast harddisk and your machine running 24/7..so if you meet the T&C then go have a blast.

Its cheap to setup, so whats too loose.

My page EON Info is down as the 3leet hax0rs using EON have to be stopped and i was in transition stage anyways.

was this not supposed to be short?
    phew...

I rang a sat installer company as I have an extra Sky mini dish and I want them to install it so I can use EOL but they told me the sky dish is too small. They informed me that the sky dish is 50cm and I would need atleast a 70cm dish to get the signal from the bird in the sky. But I was thinking would it work with EOL as it is not a TV station signal.

Cany anybody confirm this? Or do you know anybody using a Sky mini dish for this?

dish size= my post in this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34219

And it does not matter what the satellite is being used for whether its streaming media, and ISP or a TV channel, the signal is exactly the same, its just how your decoder or DVB interpret's the signal.

Analogue Signal is a wavy motion but a Digital signal is a more compressed wave with straight edges..like a long snake in the game on nokia phones.
