It's a German-based popular music channel called 'Viva'. All you need is a simple analogue system aimed at the Astra-1 satellites at 19.2 degrees east. Viva transmits free-to-air on transponder 44 (11.127 GHz vertical).
It's sort of a German version of MTV, but with a heavier concentration on German bands.
If you don't have an analogue system, Viva also transmits on Astra-1 in clear digital on transponder 116 (12.67 GHz vertical SR22000; FEC 5/6) .

Thats an excellent funky pop german channel and even MTV is better in germany.
Its kinda strange to watch D12 @ 11am and hear words like **** and kill you etc etc.
MTV Uk & Ireland is over consored.

    Is VIVA2 encrypted Blade?

Do you know of any channels that will be on the 2 new positions for Astra?

No, both of them were in the clear last I seen them, I had them on analogue Hotbird but I since got rid of the analogue decoder so I don't know what the story is now. I used to refer to a great regularly updated frequency listing at http://www.satlist.dk/ but it seems to be down/gone now :(

I don't know anything about the new Astra positions, I'm sure a quick root around the net or even the Astra web site would give you more answers? Man I'm tellin you Astra is some kick a$$ satellite for digital channels, I'm currently only on Hotbird digital cause the LNB arm is rusted off my Astra dish and I'm too lazy to sort it out!

Astra ownz the world when it comes to satellites.
Then own like 49% of Asia Sat and 70% of Star1 in south america and now their best buddy Murdoch own DirectTV Satellites in north america.

After a quick shovel and pick bit it appears that "Viva-Zwei" is only available in PAL aka Analogue on 19.2 and it appears to be gone from hotbird as there is now "Viva Polska".

i no longer have an analogue decoder but my DVB card does both..excellent.

I can confirm that Viva and Viva-2 are both on Astra-1 in clear analogue and clear digital. If you're interested, the German versions of MTV and MTV-2 The Pop Channel (as they call it) are also on Astra-1 in clear analogue.

Wouldn't it be nice to have Viva UK & Ireland. I read that Viva Zwei will be renamed Viva Plus and may encrypt. See

Clear means that it is not nessecary to have a subsciption to view the channel.
    they are not encrypted.

    Watch this the odd time.
The German music videos aren't half bad, from the rather chessy Seeed to the rather insense Rammstein.
