Is it possible to transfer a Irish sky sub to the uk? What is involved in doing this.

Do you mean , bring your digibox and card over to the UK?
Afaik theres less channels on an Irish sub than a UK sub-so why would you want to continue the Irish subscription?
Also the full UK sub is still marginally cheaper-so all you have to do there is give them a call in the UK and set up your account at the Uk address, with a direct debit from your UK bank a/c and Sky will do the rest-no complications. They will probably send you a new card but shouldn't have to, and will tell you to leave your digibox switched on while they update your card, which should only take a few hours.

Of course unless you are able to do it yourself, you will have to pay to get your dish up

What I mean is to get the card updated and use a uk adress for the sub. Can I use my BOI mastercard for payment?

Or else get a BBC card?

    YES , you can.
No they wont take mastercard-it has to be direct debit from a UK account, with a UK address( thats probably to make sure you aren't in mainland Europe or some where-but then you could be and still subscribe from a UK address and bank A/C-the same applies for ROI) - thats what I was told- Be warned though its not easy, they will ring you back on your"UK" number,if you are ringing from Ireland.
If you are genuinely moving to England -you have no problem.

    Thanks MadMan.

I think I will get a BBC card instead. I managed to order one ok on friday so I hope that I will have it soon.
Can 2 cards co-exist ok on one box?

Yes you can have the two cards for the one box-just switch them each time you want ch 4/5 news 24 etc.
There will be a 45 second delay when the box is loading up the epg each time-but someone told me here you can type in the channel number during that 45 seconds and you will go straight to it.

frequent card swapping has caused boxes to crash.
