For the last few days on Sky News they have been showing an Afghan waking over 2 flags before wipping his feet on a third ... the American flag. The one behind it was that of Isreal, but the one behind that looked to be an Irish flag, although there is one other country I know of with the same flag but in reverse, the Ivory Coast. Was I seeing things?

Haven't seen it, maybe it's the italian flag since Berlusconi shot his mouth off?
"We should be confident of the superiority of our civilization, which consists of a value system that has given people widespread prosperity and guarantees respect for human rights and religion. This respect certainly does not exist in Islamic countries."

*shrug* Even if it was the Irish flag I doubt Irish people would be worked up as an American would be.

could of been indias flag possibly given the talibans link to pakistan
or the flag of the former king of afganistan,
i think i saw a march of pro monarch supporters flying a tricolor of that description on the news.

Yep I saw that on Sky News(?)

It was the Indian Flag alrite- You know thw whole dispute w/ Pakistan over Punjab etc.

The reason I'm even replying is just so to stop any Gobshítes going down to their local mosque and exacting any type of revenge-(just in case!)
Yes it was the Indian Flag

So what if it were an Irish tricolour?
We do NOT live in a police state (not officially anyway), and if someone feels the need to wipe feet in Irish flag or burn it then that is their perogative.
Unless wiping feet in tricolour is seditious if so, someone post link to evidence.

im just happy they weren't wiping their feet the irish flag before the events

I was more interested in knowing what raseason they would have for defacing an Irish flag if it was true. Anyway I could have swore the Stripes were verticle (although it could have been turned) and I don't remember seeing the circular symbol of the indian flag in the middle. Anyway I'll see if they show it again tomorrow.

We may not live in a Police state but there are still ppl here wouldn't be long sorting those type of ppl out. It is totally disgraeful and shows nothing but disrespect for those who their lives for a free and independant state. If you think the anericans got mad over their flag, you should see how some Irish ppl feel abot the tricolour.

To the best of my knowledge it is the Indian flag as stated above. And I'd believe the Brithsh Flag would be there b4 an Irish one any time.

    I'm rapidly changing my mind,

Digi, did a search for Northern Alliance flag but couldn't find it, are u sure?

It was the indian flag. It was turned 90 degrees with respect to the Israeli and American flags.

It's not the Irish flag and it's not the Indian flag. It's actually the flag of the Northern Alliance of Afghanistan. The flag regularly changes as they take/lose control of areas of Afghanistan. It just so happens that it's green, white and gold at the moment.

are you serious? We Americans see so
many protestor somewhere burning the American flag so often it's hard to take it serious anymore.

However, I will confess that I had a small, perverse sense of satisfaction when the flames from a burning American flag set fire to the protestor who set fire to the flag.

Do you know that these people are burning your flag for a reason. You should take a look at American polices in the Middle East, and everwhere else aswell. They aren't just insane they do these things to show their dissaproval of unhumane polices.

A reason? Really? C'mon, I just thought they wanted to get off on the fumes. Buuuut, you do have a point. Our evil US policies just get us into trouble time and time again. Like that time we meddled in that little war with the Fascist ....

Seriously, could you tell me a single US policy that you like?
