Protecting your card from Kids

Some of you may find this tip useful. My 1 year old was in the habit of taking the sky card from the digibox and hiding it around the house. Tried putting sellotape on the font of the box to keep the card in but this was like waving a red rag to a bull. She would spend her time chewing away the tape and then she'd remove the card.

Solution: I cut my viewing card so no portion of it sticks out of the digibox. I now need to use a tweesers to extract the card from the box but the kids can no longer get at it!

ps. Whatever you do..don't cut the smartcard panel, just the plastic.

You could also try getting 1 of those lock thingys that tv shops have so that u wont nick the viewing card.

Wow. A bit drastic don't you think.

How about just putting the box up out of the reach of little hands?

Excellent stuff freetoair. My 1yr old was is doing the exact same thing. I have tried moving the box out of reach but the only place I can put it ends up being a bit of an eyesore.

Here's another 'child Vs Sky' story ;-)I had to buy a replacement remote control two weeks after getting installed. My daughter got her hands on it one day and it has never been seen since. We turned the house up side down trying to find it but eventually after a week I bit the bullet and forked out the £40 for the replacement.
