How do you think the WTC atrocity and the subsequent War on Terror will affect the situation in the north?

Should the British Government reintroduce free college fees for NI.
It has played such an important part in educating those in deprieved areas and currently stands in the way of many of those less well off.

Sectarianism is in part due to ignorance and lack of education of the history and facts of a national or socio-economic group. Surely free college fees can allievate this and also prime the north for foreign investment w/ an educated workforce when "Normalisation" occurs!

As John Hume was a direct benefactor of a free college education, I would love to hear his views on this. Maybe you can let us all know how you get on!?

Ask why they have had segregated schools all these years. Shurly this only plays into the hands of the bigots on both sides, keep polotics, religion etc out of schools.

Alright i'm back from the meeting.. Well the first major announcment is!!!!

John Humes didnt show up. Instead we had a repreasentitive from The alliance party, The SDLP The UUP and Sinn fein (Mitchell McLaughlin) And Ian Paisley jr. Sadly Ian refused to come because of Mitchell.

The main topics of the discussion was the Unionist's walking out and the IRA decommisioning. The SDLP guy was probably the best while the UUP guy really talked down to us as children as if we didnt even know what politics were. A big disappointment seeing we were alowed only 2 questions in total out of over 100 students. Of course the people who asked, asked stupid questions and i didnt get a chance to strangle anyone. Anyway NI politics looks very childish in person. Refusing to shake hands and name calling abound!!:confused:

    Thats dissapointing:(

I think its always a dissapointment when you get near these ppl bcos they're really over cautious, not wanting to say anything they might regret. David Trimble was in UCD a year or two back and he just flat out refused to answer q's of a "sensitive" nature!
