World Trade Centre (bombings?)

I apologise if this information has been posted before but I would like to share the information that I have been informed of... if anything to disprove it.

A very close and trusted friend of mine told me, the day after the attack on the world trade centre, that there was more than we had been told of what exactly had happened there. A friend of his who owns a bar in New York overheard some Policemen that were taking refuge from the catastrophe talking with each other. They said that there were four men dressed in NYC fireman clothes arrested just after the two aeroplane impacts. Apparently they were holding bombs and were ready to use the bombs to shed more damage on the buildings "if the planes weren't successful". I can't believe this as it is something that the public hasn't been aware of through TV etc but am ever more wary of the truth that has been shown to us as no real evidence has been shown to us.

I'd love to know if anyone has heard of this (rumour?) and if so.. from what source.

you would need a nuke to bring the WTC down or even a weapon of mass destruction, and fertilizer wont dont that, unless you drive the bomb in on an Aircraft Carrier.

Actually you wouldn't. A site went into more detail why but basically each floor is designed to hold 2-3 floors in weight.

Anymore then that and the tower collapes in a cascade effect.

so floor 1 can only handle floors 1 through 4, what happens when you put 5 through 8 on top?
i was under the impression that there was a central concrete column that each floor was "bolted" too and that column was the buildings support.

Maybe I should of explained better.

Each floor is designed to hold the weight of rubble of 2-3 other floors. So when say 4 floors of rubble come crashing down, it will cause a cascade.

btw, Floor 1 in America is the ground floor. It can normally hold a lot more weight.

Oh and the WTC buildings were actually designed to withstand an airplane collision, which is why they stayed up as long as possible.

Havent heard this Rumour before but I would say its unlikely. This is what is called a FOAF story. Friend of a friend. In reality its probably a friend of a friend of a friend of a person who came into the bar who heard it of someone who was in shock. Whats more even it was reported correctly from its original source its more than possible that the policemen were misinformed due to the same twisting of fact and fiction.

There was a LOT of misreports, exagerations and just plain lies floating around during and after the WTC attack. The Urban legend site www.snopes.com has an entire section dedicated to Urban Legends surrounding WTC for example.
People all want to be the first with the next piece of news on the WTC event and this often involves having to pass info on the second it is heard without verifying it. And even then its not always passed accuratly and we have the Purple Monkey Dishwasher effect. The original story mutated to something entirely different

If we look at this logically having additional terrorists on the ground Holding bombs would have endangered the whole operation. The bombs would have to be pretty big so they would be unlikely to be inconspicous. and anyway why would firemen be at the scene if the attacks failed?

dark irony, but i seen a programme on discovery about "Tall Buildings", the night before sep 11 and the architect of the WTC was on it, and he said that he had designed them to withstand the impact of the largest plane of the time, but he obviously never took jet fuel melting steel into the equation.
