Tech Support 2000:

On a recent tech support call to Philips looking for a part for a digital camera.

I phoned a Dublin number, talked to guy with a english accent and was directed to the right place where they would deal with my request. This guy, in the right place had a French accent. His first comments were not unexpected... "How did you get here". He said I should be somewhere else, so he connected me with somewhere else...

In the somewhere else I was answered by a very pleasant young lady.. possible German.. (not sure). She told me she was new but she knew for definite I was in the wrong place.. hang on a second........ Next a more mature sounding lady said she would connect me with tech support for my region..... "Connecting You Now"......

There they directed me to the right place again and of course I was directed to the right place a third or fourth or fifth right place...

Having visited three or four countries I was beginning to think I could do this instead of going on holiday.......

After about twenty minutes at premium rate I eventually found myself at the first right place where they guaranteed me they would connect me to the right place. (thirty minutes)

Well would you believe my luck I finally got to the right place and you guessed it... It was the first guy with the english accent again... He apologised for the run-around. I said its OK.............. Then I got cut off!

I sold the camera to a friend of mine and at last account he was still on the telephone!
