I'm going to Prague for 3 nights at the end of January. There's 5 of us and we're looking to get an apartment for the duration.
Can anyone recommend me some accommadation that they've used and had a good experience with.

    Cheers!

Stayed in the Ibis Smichov last June. This is a very clean hotel that is well located. Underground is 5 mins away. Trams to the castle just outside the door. Breakfast is included in the deal.

If I was goinf back I would stay there again.

Enjoy Prague - one of the nicest cities I have visited.

I am thinking of heading over to prague this year as well. Those apartments look really nice. Are you right in city centre?. Is it easy to get from airport. Could u almost walk everywhere?!

You can walk anywhere in prague but just get a 5 day pass.. valid on tram, metro, bus, and the venhicular (spelling??) Its 250kc which is about €7

As for getting from airport.. cab is expensive.. just get a bus, i think they all go the same direction anyway... then transfer to a metro.. once in the metro system you can get almost anywhere. Its a small city so you can walk most places and others you can hop on a metro/tram

Were going to be probably bringing our young son, so location will be key. We can take the occasional trek around in the trams.

I was in Prague for new year and it was fantastic, stayed here http://www.travel.cz/accommodation/pict_NERUDOVA_APARTMENT_HOUSE_en.html
which i honestly can't flaw. They pick you for free from the airport (which isn't far) and you can arrange for them to bring you back to the airport for a small charge. It is on Nerudova Street just below the castle which is a really safe quaint area.
The apartments are huuuge with fully equipped kitchens and olde worlde charm (but you have all the normal creature comforts), and there are loads of places to eat /drink/ do, in the area.

Many thanks for that. I was speaking to someone i once worked with from prague and he recommended nerudova street. Thanks again.

They were absolutely fantastic, not a single fault with them. It was on a quiet side street but it was located 2 minutes away from the old town square and 5 minutes from wenceslas square.
It has everything you could want, wooden floors, hot showers, comfy beds and nice big living room. There was even a shop selling beer right next to it so we could sample some local brews!
The people running the apartment were very friendly and we were able to leave our bags and stuff with them when we had to leave the apartment but had some time to spare.
