Starting a new hobby in Drawda

I moved here a year ago but thanks to a truly hellish commute (2 and a half hours of train travel and an hour and a half of walking every day), I never really got to do anything with my evenings apart from sob with exhaustion and watch tv.
Now that I have a new improved commute and magical flexi-time, I'm thinking it might be nice to take up a new hobby - meet people, learn a new skill, get out of the house etc etc.
I'm pretty crap at team sports and I don't have access to a car so I'm feeling kind of limited in what I can do. I'd love to take a painting or pottery class or something creative, even if I'm ****e at it! But I'm finding it hard to find things to do round the town.
So people, please find me a hobby! All suggestions gratefully received. :)

Best to have a look in the Drogheda Independant. There are usually loads of articles about the various clubs etc.

There is a very good photography club in the Town and there are a number of amateur dramatic clubs. no details but you could try the Droichead Arts Centre.

well,i know you dont want to go down the team sports route butt........

if you are,you should join the collon hurling team, its only a couple minutes down the road you know!!

Isn't a hurling a boy's sport? The closest I've ever gotten was enforced hockey in school. Which I both hated and was brutal at. :)

Thanks for the help so far people! Like the photography idea. And for the newspaper suggestion - I tend to get tunnel-visioned and unable to look beyond the net! :o
