Guitar Graphics

A while ago I bought a Yamaha Pacifica guitar. :)
It has great tone and action, but looks a bit boring.

I was thinking of having some graphics (flames etc) airbrushed onto it to give a bit more bite.

I have been looking around for companys in Ireland that would do this and can't find any.

So does anyone here know of a place to go for this type of thing or has anyone else had this done to their guitars / basses.

    :D

Never thought about that, do you think it would cost much ? :)
Come to think of it I do know of a guy nearby who does paint jobs for cars nd bikes.

You're probably looking at a couple of hundred for a decent airbrushing and refinishing job tbh.

Only one way to find out how much it will cost and thats to goand ask the painters themselves.

Here's a site that will help you "gues"timate the price.

Yeah, I'm just looking at some sites here and the graphics I'm looking at cost more than the guitar originally did.

If worst come to worst I'll do it myself. :o

What other modifications besides new scratch plates or knobs could I get done ?

68 lost souls : thanx for the plug

You could change the pickups or pickup covers, you could change the tuners, bridge and nut, you could put strap locks on, the list goes on.

Something like this would be cool in the bridge if you want flames http://www.music123.com/Custom-Shop-Parts-Hot-Rod-Convertible-Bridge-i245077.music

instead of paying a couple of hundred euro on a paint job that will eventually suck, imo. (it's a guitar not a fúckin canvass, those paint jobs are for people who can't really play, just those who want to look cool with it hanging on their shoulder, imo;) )

Anyway, if you want something drastic, then strip the guitar and refinish it any way you want.. you'll only have to pay for the materials to do so, certainly not a couple of hundred euro..

Having a graphic airbrushed / painted onto your guitar has nothing to do with inablility to play.

As I said before, I couldn't be happier with the guitar, I just think it doesn't look original enough as it is (plain colours)

Thanx to the others for the modification ideas ... :D

I dont think a graphic has any reflection on someones ability to play at all. I wouldnt be one for a skull graphic or anythin but i have nothing against the idea. Its kind of the same way we like certain cloths. We could wear plain black and it would do the same job but sometimes its nice to have somethin different

If you wanna keep it cheap, just go get some Office Buddies (tm) and polka dot it like Buddy Guy's guitar (SAY! I wonder if that's where he got his nickname!).
For extra creativity, get the squarish Buddies (tm) with the rounded corners.

why dont you just buy a guitar that has artwork already on it it'll be a better guitar than the pacifica and you'd end up payin about the same price for a perfect job aswell
