    Hi,
Im not familar with the castelcomber area for rte 1+2, tv3 & TnaG reception. A guy wants me to install a full terrestrial aerial system for him. What antenna(s), diplexer's, etc should I use to be sure of 100% picture quality?

    Thank's

I would have thought that unless there was a large obstacle in the way (which there could be, given my lack of knowledge of the area) TG4 from Mt.Leinster at that distance shouldn't pose too many problems.

So what are ye saying lads...just a bog standard vhf(box aerial) antenna with a high gain(probably color king)uhf antenna and vhf/uhf diplexer?

It looks very much like trial and error. I take it you are doing a favour!

You have probably visited this web site before http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/7225/tvch.html

The only problem with the relays is there is no TV3. I think this is still current. Maybe more relays operating since the geocities site was last updated. RTE have used mobile phone masts as sites.
I know good UHF aerials are not cheap. Probably €40 to €60. My personal opinion is a quad x is a must.

Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Yes it would be Mount Leinster for Castlecomer Co. Kilkenny

VHF Band 3 (vertical) for RTE 1,2

UHF Group A or wideband antenna (horizontal) for TV3, TG4

    + a VHF UHF diplexer

    see www.irish-tv.com/mtleinst.asp
I am near Castlecomer and have my aeriels in the attic with decent enough picture quality without any amplifiers.
I am using a VHF DAB 3 element band III and 16 element wideband UHF aerial.

    Yep - exactly.

    RTE1 - 191.25 Mhz (Ch. F)
    RTE 2 - 215.25 MHz (Ch I)

    TG4 - UHF c23
    TV3 - UHF c26:)
