    Have you checked at the back of the case where everything plugs in? Usually on Dells there's another white sticker with a barcode on it which also has the service tag.

    yea its safe enough. The service tag is embedded on motherboard so it reads it off this. It doesn't looks for any personal info as far as i know.

    Try this first. Go to the Windows Help and Support program, it is in the start menu and can also be accessed from the control panel and by pressing F1 when you are at the desktop.

    When it opens, just Click "Computer Information" an all the details of your system including Dell model will be present on the right hand side of the page.

    just go in to the bios...all dell systems have the service tag entered into the bios screen..
