What four digit number? I just joined 3V but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I it works out will get rid of visa.

The 4 digit number is one that Paypal puts on your statement to prevent fraud. It does a small transaction for a couple of euro which shows up on your statement as something like PAYPAL*385230527 and then you would enter 385230527 into your account in paypal to verify it's your credit card ...

You will need to check your online statement/transaction from your credit card or wait for your papar statement if you have not got online banking or phone up your credit card company in a few days.

im on 3v aswell but we dont get a credit transactions as its like a voucher. i also want to join paypal.

ive used my 3v card a good few times with paypal.

it works fine but it is alot of trouble to use it.

since 3v numbers always change after you top it up you have to register for another paypal account. you can add another credit card to your current paypal account but it doesnt give you an expanded use number and has not worked for me.

the good thing is you get the expanded use number straight after you signed up with paypal so all you have to do is log on to 3v.ie with your details and go to the online transaction history page and get it there.

good luck with using it.

Ahh didnt know the website showed you the little €1 transaction. You would be better off sticking about 250 onto the card to avoid using it a lot.

went to purchase an item thru ebay,directed to paypal(all good!)
next thing i know is that i have a limit on the amount of cash i can send thru paypal,(Credit Card in credit all ok!)
So after i "buy it now" paypal will not let me send on the cash which i have
to purchase the item,very confusing for me!!!

They say its all about getting VERIFIED,fair enough but i have been with ebay and paypal for nearly 2 years now and no probs!!!

Now I ask you who is going to have that 4 digit number so maybe in the future(2 years)I MIGHT it!
Checked my online bank and i get statments for following months
ie get novembers in december,so i will not be able to use ebay for a month????

Did you change credit card recently?
This looks like a problem with your credit card thru paypal as they seem to be treating you like when you first sign up with them using a credit card.

nope same CC!but they asked me to verify my account,asked for a 4 digit number,didnt have one so asked for another,and hey bingo!!!

Here's something I was very impressed with myself to figure out. The few euros you might have left on a 3V voucher.

If you have a Pay Pal account send your other email address an invoice for what ever amount. Then you pay with your 3V voucher and it goes into your Pay Pal account, use it as you want then.

Hi

I had the same problem and found the answer

when you enter the 3v voucher number into paypal and it tells you to verify. Log into paypal and view the transactions of the voucher number.

when you see a list and one should have €1.50 with PAYPAL in the details area. Should look like this.

E.G. 3482PAYPAL

just copy the numbers (3482) and go back to paypal and enter them as your validation code
