Job Vacancy - Personal Assistant Required - Dublin 2 Area

    Personal Assistant required to work with disabled woman living in Dublin 2 area.


    Good spoken and written English is essential. Own transport is preferred or living in or near Dublin 2 area. Responsibilities of the position include assistance with personal care, including assistance with taking a shower/bath, hair care/makeup, dressing, assistance in the toilet etc., housework including making/changing bed, washing/ironing clothes, cleaning bathroom, kitchen etc., shopping, preparation and cooking of light meals and washing up, routine upkeep of equipment e.g. wheelchair and any other areas of household maintenance and the ability to accept and carry out all instructions diligently.

    Applicants must behave in a reliable and trustworthy manner at all times, be fairly flexible in terms of availability for work and be able to work on own initiative. Ability to swim would be prefereable. Applicants should be willing to attend all training sessions. A working knowledge of MS Office applications would be an advantage. Successful candidate may be required to travel to engagements, meetings etc. to provide assistance. A commitment to maintain an anti-racist and feminist working environment will be expected. Start date to be negotiated but will be within the next 2 weeks and will be for a fixed term contract following a successful trial period.

    30-35 hours per week Monday to Friday. €12.30 per hour.

    Dublin 2 - postal district of Dublin - the main location of work will be near Mount Street. Training is free but compulsory (health and safety, manual handling, disability and independent living philosophy)
