Heading over to New york for new years eve and was wondering if anyone had any info in this regard about pubs, clubs etc. There is a few of us going over and have a hotel booked also. Any suggestions would be great.

Times Square springs to mind, its probably a bit cliched but looks like a great experience.

I have a few friends who have done Times Square for New Years Eve and they all say they would never do it again, nor recommend it. Sorry I don't have anything more positive to add.

Might want to ask a mod to move this to Travel/Holidays, as it would probably get a far better response there.

Check out some of the Irish bars, Connellys, MCSurleys, O'Neills, The Joshua Tree and in the meat packing district there are clubs. Aer is a good one. Good Luck and have a great time.

i did new years on times square a few years ago, it was amazing. we stayed in a hotel on times square (the double tree) so we just came out of our hotel at 11.55 and watched the ball drop, then just went back up!

the year before we just went for a meal.

    times square is cool though...

have a ball! and if you have any q's about NY, feel free to pm me.
