Thinking out loud....

You read a lot in these forums about how sky needs phonelines, how wires have to be run left right and centre for them and so on. You would think that some smart cookie would have a device that would do away with the need.

I have a dect phone at home, only the one though, my place is not that big! Why can't someone come up with an addition that plugs into the phone socket on your Sky box and connects up to a dect system. It's simple really, t'is just a handset without numbers thats needed and a lead to the Sky box.

Anyhow, anyone out there want to throw me some money so that I can go off and make these devices, sell them and retire a millionaire?

    Thanks,
    MJ

There are lots of wireless phone extenders on the market already, this thing though is probably a better solution http://www.accessorystore.co.uk/acatalog/SV1500.html

I thought BT had something like this - can't find it at the moment but they do have a 56K modem that uses DECT - so it should be possible see:

That's probably the most common one, though it uses the power lines to transmit signals, not DECT.

I suppose it would've been a good design idea for digiboxes if they had DECT transcievers built in, and a seperate base unit to serve all digiboxes in the house like the OP has said. Good thinking! Pity you didn't work for Pace or Sky! :)
