I have an MMDS dish and the signal comes into the room thru what looks like a standard area type lead, and then into a black box, and out of that comes a the Scart lead.

I want to move my TV over to the other side of the room.

My question is. The cable that comes in, is it a standard aerial type or a specialist cable? The reason I ask is that it has screw connections rather than just push together normal aerial types.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pip

I think this belongs on another forum but anyway it sounds like to need F screw on type connectors, you may be able to use a double female to extend the cable. Use good quality coax such as CT100

It probably just standard RG6 cable with f connectors on each end. What you will need to get is some rg6 cable and also a couple of fconnectors and a f-connector coupler. This joins 2 f-connectors together. I assume that before the cable goes into the receiver it first goes into a small power supply and then from there into the receiver. If thats the case all you need to do is leave the power supply where it is and run a new lenght of cable from the power supply to the new location in the room where you plan on putting the tv. By doing it this way you will probably need to get a new power lead for the receiver as it shares the power with the external power supply. A standard radio lead will do for this.
