There is something wrong with the custom HTML the admins have used if only users of Opera can create polls. The stock vBulletin HTML works fine in all major browsers.

It ISN'T disabled, - either on purpose or otherwise. I know this because they WORK FOR ME.

Nobody's making up fibs or excuses for it not working. For all I've seen from personal experience, it's working fine... - then again, you and others say it doesn't work for you.

The admins don't seem to know exactly why its not working for some people and they're trying to sort it out. That's no reason to accuse them of lying.

Indeed corkie, I dont know you and frankly I couldnt care less if you thought I was lying to you. *miffed*

It isnt working in some browsers and we are looking into it. However we also have lives and jobs so we're tackling problems in priority order. This isnt a top priority one and takes up a fair bit of time. We'll get it when we have the time to look into it proper.

Note: much thanks to tubedog for giving us a lead on the problem. (afaik) Tubedog is one of the people behind the vB project and gets my respect for producing a great piece of programming.

I actually have an idea of what might be causing this and I don't think it has anything to do with the HTML.

    Go to
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/admin/index.php?action=phpinfo
(note: you'll need admin priveleges to do this). Login, and look at the resulting page - you should see the following lines somewhere on the page:
    track_vars
    register_globals
Each of them should have a value - either on or off. Let me know what they say.

Aw, shucks. :o I am not a developer, but have done some hacks and an a moderator at the support forums.

    Tube_Dog: I couldnt find Track_Vars but I found a these:

    VARIABLE SETTING DEFAULT
    track_errors Off Off
    register_globals On On

Which seems ok... (remember, I'm a moron!)

I was just about to post a topic about this until I scrolled down and saw this one. It's pissing me off though.
register_globals is a PHP setting relating to form data and query strings.
If you have a textbox called "name", and regiser_globals is on, a global variable named $name will be available when the script in the action property of the form is executed. The same is true when script.php is accessed like so: script.php?name=bob
However if register_globals is off, the data contained in "name" must be accessed through one of 2 associative arrays, $HTTP_POST_VARS["name"] and $HTTP_GET_VARS["name"]
Many servers have register_globals set to off to avoid a fairly significant security hole, but if the problem stems from this, it would affect the entire functionality of the board and not just the poll system. I await the solution with intent :)

    DeV.

I never said you where lying other's twisted my words!
Yes I know it is not an important matter.
Other's where giving the impression it depended on the
browser you are using! Guess what I have even tried using
opera to post a poll and guess what it didn't work in that
    for me.

So it is luck of the draw some can others cannot!

I was the beard guy at the 'Blackout' that reminded you of
    the 'Spin Bug'.

Tom, try removing enctype="multipart/form-data" in FORM tags in the newpost, newreply & editpost templates. It'll break file uploads, but see what happens anyway.
