There's no must have games for the Xbox 360 prior to Christmas now that Oblivion has been delayed until 2006. I guess you can salvage Perfect Dark Zero from the launch titles, that and Gun.

Well thats not suprising, ea games and movie tie-ins will be released on every console there is. But that doesnt mean there gonna be the exact same. Tiger woods 06 on the 360 looks amazing compared to the xbox version and hopefully is just as good to play.

It's not exactly progress now is it. I'd rather play something that shows that the new generation is needed and not a shiny version of something I can play on my PS2

But if we're going down the route of saying 'It looks like a shiny version of the game on the Xbox/PS2', lets be honest with ourselves, it's the same at every launch of a new console. Remember the PS2 with its launch games of Tekken Tag Tournament and Ridge Racer 5?, they WERE the PS1 games of Tekken 3 and Ridge Racer (the original!) with more polygons!. I'm not prepared to judge or slate the 360 until its own specific games start to come out for it, if they're ****, then yeah, the 360 deserves to be slated. The fact of the matter is, up until next spring (when development teams start to create 360 specific titles after the christmas rush to finish this generations *big* games), all games coming out for the 360 are going to be PC ports or glossy versions of current generation console games.. are people actually surprised by this?

Is Dead Rising a Launch game? Anyone have a list of definite launch titles?

A small aside but wasn't the 360 billed as the first console to have the same world-wide release date? Has there been a reason given as to why were getting it a week later is it?

The U.S launch is first (and always will be first) is because MS want to ensure athe smoothest ride possible for the introduction of their console into their home territory (their most important territory). We're a week later because we're 2nd class citizens which, in effect, it means that if the US is demanding mroe consoles by the 27th of November, they'll rob our quota and we'll be pushed back. Japan/Asia gets their launch date last as MS know they're fighting a losing battle against the home teams of Nintendo/Sony and therefore there's no real rush to push their console out there, it shouldn't make a difference to what date it comes out over there, Japanese people don't take to foreign consoles.

Aye but is my original point valid?, Was it not billed, when it was first announced, as the first console to have the same release date world wide? I'm pretty sure that the video they had at game-con mentioned this as one of its selling points.

I'm annoyed by it. The fact that the PS2 didn't have any games that offered anything new was the reason I didn't buy one until the release of GTA3 and why it is such a crying shame that it killed the superior at the time Dreamcast. The N64 had Mario 64, PS1 had Wipeout, Snes had F-zero, Mega Drive had the ultrafast sonic. I'm heading over to America and will be there for the Xbox360 launch. I was going to buy one but after seeing the launch games I don't see any point getting one until something good comes along that I can't play on the consoles and PC I currently have or there is a significant price drop (or Mistwalker release their first game that turns out to be as good as the FF games )

I guess in this age of multi-platform, bet spreading, game releases killer apps on one console only are becoming harder and harder to find, the xbox has always been about other peoples games like Bungies Halo, originally a PC game bought up and transferred to the xbox, just like COD2, just like Kameo, and as a past DC owner myself, just like PGR3. I guess you have to ask yourself, is the machine going to play the stuff I want to play? and if your answer is yes then go for it, me I want PGR3, although I really miss the first one, Metropolis Street Racer, the greatest racer of all, they droppes so many features when it went to the Xbox, it has always been a shadow of its former self.
I don't have a ninja PC so COD2 will have a welcome home on my 360 and I am intrigued by Ridge Racer 6 and Quake 4, must see what they will be like given the PSP and PC versions of the franchises, both refreshing.

But, even with all of this hullaballoo, I want Shodow of the Collossus most of all for my humble PS2, a copy of Einhander for my PS1 wouldn't go amiss either!

Microsoft have confirmed the list of launch titles for the Stateside launch, I assume we will get all of these titles also at launch and possibly DOA4 as it has a December 1 release date
