Single mem slot or double?

    I'm buying a PC with 1G of memory (2 * 512) from Dell.

There is an option for an extra €48 to upgrade to just get 1G (1 * 1024) instead. At this point in time I don't think I'll see the need to eventually double up to 2G, but just in case would it be better for just get 1 * 1024 for now?

Also, are there any performance aspects this could effect?

Thanks Nukem, looks like there ain't much of a difference then. Think I'll pay the extra €48 and get the 1*1024 instead of the 2*512 - at least then if I want to double them memory in the future I'm already half way there.....
