Congrats to Setanta, hope he makes a big impact.

Former Cork hurler Setanta Ó hAilpín
has been elevated to the Carlton Blues'
senior list for the 2006 Aussie Rules
    season.

The 22-year-old, who has been quietly
    developing with the Melbourne-based
Blues' VFL feeder club the Northern
Bullants, is one of 33 players on the
    senior list.

Ó hAilpín will wear the number 19
jersey next year. The 2003 All-Star has
played once in the AFL Premiership
since moving Down Under - he scored
with his first kick against Richmond in
    May.

    Meanwhile Ó hAilpín's younger brother
Aisake, who linked up with Carlton in
December last year, is one of three
players to be retained as second-year
    rookies.

And the eldest Ó hAilpín, Seán Óg, who
played for Ireland in the International
Rules Series, is prolonging his short
stay in Australia to experience some
    training with Carlton.

Setanta, who has added 12 kilos to his
    6ft 6in, 99kg frame, told the Herald
Sun newspaper: 'When I first came out
here I set goals, one of which was to
play senior football and another to
    make Carlton's senior list.'

He has a tough job ahead of him!

Carlton were 'wooden spooners' last year. Even Denis Pagan admitted that it may be years before Carlton are in contention for a final.

Anyway he is a great player so good luck to him...

Well dSTAR we KNOW that Carlton are by far the most horrible AFL team ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROTFLMAO.....

I saw those young Irish boys in the paper the other day....could be contenders for knocking Tadhg off the 'spunkiest Irish bloke alive' title!!! (Hmmmm, well maybe not!)

Good luck to them at any rate.
