    Folks,
I'm posting this in the Computers fourm since:
    a) More people will be able to help me here due to the knowledge of DivX and Xvid.
    b) More people will see it here.

Simple really - can anybody recommend me a decent DVD player with DivX and XVid (CD format) playback? It's turning out to be quite a difficult thing to google due to the amount of crap out there on this interweb thingy.

    Cheers!
    Steve.

I'm using a Philips 5100 slot loader. (€90 Power City) Its ok. Most people seem to recomment the KISS or LG models. The Philips is so so. Doesn't support long filenames, which is a pain and I've had some problems with it not ejecting disks and not loading disks. It eventually reads everything, DVD/DivX I've tried, you just have to turn it on/off to get it to see the disk sometimes. Perhaps I've a faulty unit. I suspect theres a problem with the slot loading mechanisim myself. I intend to return it once I find the reciept.

Personally I prefer using a computer to watch DivX you've more control. Perhaps a Media Center PC would be better.

This one has DivX, don't think it has Xvid though.

I bought one from pixmainia which has both DVD and XVID\DIVX playback

only €48 and only €13 to ship it.

Cant really go wrong with that.
