    Hi i brougnt a SilverCrest DVD Divx player about 6 months ago that is now not working, lost the receipt any chance someone here has one??

    I have one but broke it doing a firmware upgrade took it apart then to try and redo the firmware manually buy just show timed it more.

    It will not even open the CD tray, so firware upgrade is out of the question, i dident think you could update the firmware manually (i dont think there is a reset switch if a firmware update goes kaputt)

    Just phone up the customer service number on the card that came with your instruction manual.All they need is a brief desciption of problem,the player serial number and how long you have the player.They will not ask for a receipt.I asked them if I needed to submit the receipt and I was told no.They will give you an RMA number over the phone.You will have to post (FREEPOST) the player to an address in Dublin (I think it's Howth).You will receive a replacement within 10 days - if there isn't a postal strike!

    It may be worth just popping into Lidl, I bought a laptop in Aldi and about 7 months later I brought it back with no receipt, about a minute later I had €1300 in my hand. Nice service!

    They are the only ones that sell them afaik so should be fine.
